Two Upcoming Art Events

On October 10 – 12,  member Emily Squires Levine will be exhibiting at the PA Guild of Craftsmen Fine Crafts Show in Center City Philadelphia.  Come see her  new work and that of 140 talented artists.  You can find Emily in booth #101, a new location just down Rittenhouse Square South, 8 booths from the corner of 18th Street. Hours are 11 – 6  (Friday and Saturday), 11 – 5 (Sunday).     For more information about the show, check out the PA Guild Web Site  here.




   Emily will also be participating in t the Philadelphia Open Studio Tour on October 25 and 25,  sharing the studio of the talented ceramicist Peter Cunicelli at 915 Spring Garden Street Studio, Studio 111.  This  former warehouse is the home to artists’ studios,  many of which will be open for you to tour and to speak with the artists.

The weekend tours are free, self-guided, and run from 12 pm – 6 pm   For more information about this event, visit POST’s website.

Emily Squires Levine at the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen Fine Craft Show

Next Friday, Saturday and Sunday (October 11-13), Emily Squires Levine will be exhibiting at the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen Fine Craft Show on Rittenhouse Square in Center City Philadelphia.  Stop by and see her latest work and that of 140 other talented artists.  You can find her in booth #108 (same location as last May), near the intersection of 18th Street and Rittenhouse Square South.  Hours are 11 am to sunset.

Emily Under the Influence! Congratulations!

Awards for Under the Influence

The results are (mostly) in!  Thanks to our juror, Alicia Byler of Mommalicious, for taking on the difficult task of choosing from such a great exhibition.

Best in Show, $500: Eric Weit for “Y.”  This award is sponsored by the Haverford Guild of Craftsmen, Williamsport chapter in memory of Phil Patterson & William Garvey, and Lehigh Valley chapter in memory of Paul Weiland.

Most Humorous, $200: David Bowman for “Nantilly Elemental.”  This award is sponsored by the Pocono chapter in memory of Hilton Byrd.

Best in Design, $200: Emily Squires Levine for “Grass Bowl #1.”  This award is sponsored by the Pocono chapter in memory of Robert Greer.

Most Unique Style, $200: Peter Saenger for “Porcelain Lamp and Shade.”  This award is sponsored by the Pocono chapter in memory of Paul Bongiovi.

Best Use of Theme, $200: Peggy Hannum for “William Morris.” This award is sponsored by the Chester County Craft Guild.

You can still cast your vote for your favorite piece until August 1!  So if you haven’t yet stopped by to view and admire, you’ll find us at 335 N. Queen St.  Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday 10-5 and Sunday 12-4.

Preview the Exhibition

New Contributions by Members for the Annual Showcase Fundraiser

PAPCG members continue to support the Annual Fundraiser with their donations. Denise Pettit is giving an Art Woman T-Shirt, Arlene Finocchiaro, a garden sculpture, glass beads, pin and necklace, Sherman Oberson, a necklace by Melanie West, Barbara Egnor is supplying Premo and an amalgram carrier tool, Pat Eisele, two Dayle Doroshow and a Lisa Pavelka DVDs, and Ann Tolman is adding two strands of glass beads and abalone to the prizes that will be available at the Fundraiser on May 20.  These are in addition to the items already contributed by members Gladys Higgins, Perrie Layton, and Emily Squires Levine.  Thanks to all members who have contributed. If you would like to donate (and have your name on the blog in BOLD letters) please contact Denise Pettit and bring your item to the next meeting. There are more vendor donations, too, and they will be listed on the blog soon.

Rolling In the Donations for May 20 Fundraiser

New artists contributions are from our own Emily Squires Levine and recent guest artist Doreen Kassel. Vendor donations include water transfer sheets, business card covers and claying DVDs from the Lisa Pavelko Signature Series (lisapavelko.com). Also the Guild received from Clearsnap 8 bottles of Smooch valued at $36. Colors include Olive Twist, Ocean Soul, Tuxedo, Carrot, Sassy Pink, Sundance, Plum, Twist, and Kiwi.
